Applications are open for the World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program 2027. The programme is designed to identify and support outstanding young African scholars who are completing or have recently completed their Ph.D. studies in fields relevant to the World Bank Group’s mission. Through a six-month assignment, fellows will gain hands-on experience in development research, economic policy, technical assistance, and lending operations while contributing to efforts aimed at reducing poverty and promoting shared prosperity across the globe.

Since its inception, the World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program has established a strong pipeline of African talent pursuing careers in international development, policymaking, academia, and research institutions. Selected fellows will be placed either at the World Bank Group headquarters in Washington, D.C., or at a World Bank country office, where they will collaborate with leading experts and participate in high-impact development initiatives.
