FULLY FUNDED: Apply for the Yale School of Environment 2026 Environmental Fellows Program (EFP) for young changemakers

Applications are open for the 2026 Environmental Fellows Program (EFP), sponsored by the Yale School of the Environment. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the program website and FAQs to fully understand eligibility criteria, program expectations, and key details before applying.

Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or individuals under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA/DREAMers). International students are not eligible unless they are currently enrolled at Yale University. Applicants must also have completed at least one year of graduate study by the start of the fellowship and be currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program. Those graduating in winter 2025 or during 2026 are welcome to apply.

The priority application deadline is Monday, December 1, at 11:59 p.m. EST, and applications submitted by this date will receive priority consideration. The final application deadline is Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Applicants should ensure all materials are carefully completed before submission, as only complete applications will be reviewed. A complete application consists of the online application form, a curriculum vitae or resume, a graduate school transcript, and two letters of recommendation. Recommendation letters must be submitted by the January 4 deadline, and they can be requested before applicants submit their final materials. Applications may also be submitted before the recommenders upload their letters.

Applicants are encouraged to begin early and take time to thoroughly review all components before submission.

Eligible Countries
For the Environmental Fellows Program (EFP), the eligible countries are essentially the United States and some exception cases for international students. Specifically: only U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA/DREAMers) are eligible unless they are international students currently enrolled at Yale School of the Environment (Yale).
