The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program provides highly motivated undergraduate students from across the globe with the chance to engage in research activities during the summer, under the mentorship of faculty at INSAIT. The program is inspired by renowned summer research programs at institutions such as MIT, Caltech, and ETH Zurich.
This marks the third edition of the SURF program, following the successful launches in 2023 and 2024. Like the previous cohorts, it is expected that all participants will make meaningful contributions to ongoing projects within their groups and have the opportunity to co-author papers for submission to leading computer science and AI conferences.

Program Benefits
All selected students will be provided with a monthly stipend of 1500 EUR to cover living expenses. INSAIT will also arrange and cover the cost of accommodation for the students, in addition to the stipend. Travel expenses will be covered, and assistance with visa applications will be provided to the selected candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at any accredited university are eligible to apply. Applicants must be pursuing a STEM major, such as computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering. Additionally, applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or its equivalent in the corresponding grading system. Applications are especially encouraged from communities that are typically underrepresented in STEM fields.
