FULLY FUNDED TO CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA: Apply for the One Young World and Virgin Unite NewNow Program 2026 for young changemakers
Applications are now open for the 2026 One Young World/Virgin Unite NewNow Programme. This initiative, developed by One Young World with the support of Virgin Unite, aims to empower outstanding young changemakers who are redefining what it means to create lasting impact. The programme focuses on developing leaders who think in systems and act collectively to drive meaningful, sustainable transformation within their communities and beyond.
The organisers are seeking ten remarkable and forward-thinking leaders from the Global South who have already proven their ability to inspire change and tackle complex challenges. Eligible candidates are expected to be between the ages of 18 and 30 and citizens of countries in the Global South. They should have demonstrated exceptional leadership through tangible, results-driven projects and possess a deep understanding of both local and global issues—particularly those that demand systemic and holistic approaches. Applicants must also show a consistent record of applying systems-thinking methods to design and implement innovative solutions that create long-term, positive change. In addition, they should be ready to collaborate closely with other members of The NewNow cohort and use their platforms to amplify examples of successful systems change.
Selected participants will receive full sponsorship to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, gaining lifetime membership in the global network of One Young World Ambassadors. They will also be featured on prominent One Young World and Virgin Unite platforms, giving them increased visibility and recognition within the global leadership space. Beyond the summit, participants will have opportunities to share their work through various media and speaking engagements, take part in the One Young World Global Leadership Programme and Action Accelerator, and join The NewNow Community, which offers exclusive workshops designed to strengthen their skills, confidence, and influence as systems leaders. The programme further encourages collaboration among NewNow members, enabling them to develop joint initiatives and advocacy efforts that advance their shared mission for systemic change.
