Applications Are Open for Funding to Attend COP31 in Türkiye: Way to the democratization of the global south.

Life of pachamama are inviting passionate young leaders to apply for a unique opportunity designed to empower the next generation to shape climate governance and amplify the voices of the Global South in international negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. This program is aimed at individuals who are committed to climate justice and want to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally.

The program runs from May to September and includes intensive online training focused on climate justice, policy analysis, and strategic communication, all tailored to the realities and challenges of the Global South. Participants will gain the knowledge and tools needed to effectively engage in climate discourse and advocacy.

In November, selected participants will take part in international climate negotiations at the COP summit in Turkey, where they will represent local perspectives and contribute to discussions at one of the most influential global climate platforms. This experience provides direct exposure to high-level decision-making processes and global climate diplomacy.

After the COP phase, participants will return to their communities to implement climate action projects and share the knowledge and experience gained with local stakeholders, ensuring that global insights translate into local impact.

They provide full financial support, covering national and international flights, accommodation, travel expenses, local transportation, and medical insurance. In addition, participants receive personalized mentorship from experienced climate negotiators and policy experts from around the world, along with access to a global network of young leaders and key international organizations.

This call is open to young people aged 15 to 30 from Turkey, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Ghana, Gabon, Uganda, and Tanzania, particularly those from indigenous communities, peasant backgrounds, Afro-descendant groups, and/or those affected by armed conflict.

Applications are open until April 30. They encourage all eligible and motivated individuals to apply and take a step toward becoming a leader in global climate action.
