FULLY FUNDED TO GHANA: Apply for the YALI RLC West Africa Emerging Leaders Program cohort 52 in Ghana

Applications are now open for the YALI RLC West Africa Emerging Leaders Program, Cohort 52, providing young Africans the chance to participate in an onsite leadership training initiative.

Launched by the United States, the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) aims to empower the continent’s future leaders. The Accra-based Regional Leadership Center, hosted at Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), invites applicants from nine West African countries, namely Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, The Gambia, and Ivory Coast.

This unique program enhances participants’ skills, preparing them to drive meaningful change in their local communities and organizations. In-person training will cover Public Policy Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Civic Leadership.

Eligibility requirements include being between 18 to 35 years old, holding citizenship in one of the nine specified countries, demonstrating proficiency in English, and showing an active commitment to leadership and community development. The program encourages applications from women, people with disabilities, young leaders from rural or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and other minority groups.

Participants may select one of three specialized tracks: an entrepreneurial pathway for those looking to lead in business or launch ventures, a civic engagement track aimed at those working with nonprofits or community-focused groups, and a public policy track for those engaged in or aspiring toward roles in government, international organizations, or policy advocacy bodies. This initiative is designed to help emerging leaders gain the expertise and experience necessary to impact the future of their countries and communities.
