FULLY FUNDED TO HAMBURG, GERMANY: Apply for the HSC Youth Ambassador Program 2026 for young changemakers
Applications are open for the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) Youth Ambassador Program 2026. This annual initiative is designed to elevate the perspectives of young leaders from Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE), ensuring their voices are heard in the global sustainability conversation. By taking part, selected participants will contribute directly to shaping discussions around an equitable and inclusive transition toward a sustainable future.
The program was established to close the gap in representation. While young people are widely recognized as vital drivers of progress, their perspectives from EMDE regions remain underrepresented in international policy and sustainability dialogues. Through the Youth Ambassador Program, changemakers are given the platform to share their insights, influence decisions, and add their expertise to the global sustainability agenda.
As an HSC Youth Ambassador, participants will take an active role in the conference taking place in Hamburg on June 29–30, 2026. They will engage in the design and delivery of sessions, contribute their experiences, and collaborate closely with their peers well before the event begins. Ambassadors will also have opportunities to join panel discussions, attend high-level meetings, and interact with more than 1,600 international leaders, including heads of state and government.
The experience offers multiple benefits: Ambassadors will be able to expand their professional networks by connecting with global decision-makers, members of the press, and local youth in Hamburg. Travel and accommodation expenses will be fully covered, ensuring equitable access for all participants. Beyond the event itself, the program fosters lasting peer-to-peer exchanges and continued collaboration among young leaders across the world.
Those eligible to apply must be between 18 and 30 years of age, reside in and originate from a country classified as an Emerging Market and Developing Economy (EMDE), and demonstrate a proven record of community leadership in sustainability. This could include founding initiatives, delivering tangible solutions to environmental or social challenges, or mobilizing supporters to advance sustainability goals.
Applications close on October 15, 2025. Young changemakers meeting these criteria are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to contribute their voices at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2026 and to play a role in accelerating progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
