The G20 Global Land Initiative is collaborating with LSE to offer a free course for communicators interested in raising awareness in their own countries of land degradation and what can be done to prevent, reduce or halt it, and to restore degraded and manage at-risk land.

The GLI is partnering with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to offer a free course aimed at communicators, such as journalists, podcasters, social media influencers, photographers, videographers, and environmental activists. This opportunity is designed for those interested in raising awareness in their home countries about land degradation, its prevention, and ways to restore and manage vulnerable lands. The fully funded 5-day course, covering flights, accommodation, and meals, will be held in London and include:

• An overview of land restoration, including challenges and solutions
• Insights into power dynamics and systems thinking for effective advocacy
• Strategic communication skills for creating impactful narratives
• Techniques for engaging with media in a competitive public space
• Expanding your communication toolbox (including VR & AR, online platforms, AI, filmmaking, podcasting, and citizen journalism)
• A field visit to a land restoration project in the UK

Participants will create communication strategies focused on land restoration challenges in their own countries. The most promising strategies will receive funding to implement after the course, and all graduates will earn a certificate.
