Fully Funded to Malaysia : Apply for the YSEALI Summit 2025
The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has launched a competitive opportunity for a cooperative agreement to plan, manage, and execute the 2025 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Summit, contingent on available funding.
The Summit, set to take place over four days in 2025 (excluding travel days), will gather over 150 alumni of the YSEALI exchange program from ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste.
The award winner will be in charge of developing a program that is interesting, dynamic, and focused on young people. Participants will have the chance to network, share ideas, and work together to tackle today's issues at the Summit. The curriculum, which will be delivered in English, will focus on the four YSEALI pillars: education, civic participation, entrepreneurship, and community service.
The Summit will feature a series of panels and talks by former YSEALI participants who have made notable contributions as leaders in their areas of expertise. In addition, participants will take part in sessions dedicated to tackling key regional challenges, such as environmental, social, political, and economic issues, through collaborative problem-solving. These sessions will utilize innovative methods like presentations, case studies, and simulations to deepen understanding and strengthen ties between ASEAN countries and the United States.
The program will also prioritize leadership growth and the development of essential soft skills, including advocacy, negotiation, and personal branding—skills crucial for effective leadership. Attendees will participate in cultural activities and visit locations related to the Summit's central theme.
The event will offer a blend of informative sessions, hands-on discussions, challenges, breakout groups, and cultural experiences. The goal of the Summit is to inspire and equip the next generation of Southeast Asian leaders to become influential agents of change in their communities and beyond.
