FULLY FUNDED TO NAIROBI: Apply for the African Youth Bootcamp for Climate (AYBC) 2025

Applications are now open for the African Youth Bootcamp for Climate (AYBC), a transformative six-month journey crafted to shape the next generation of climate trailblazers across the continent. This flagship program invites young African changemakers who are eager to take their environmental ideas and grow them into powerful, scalable solutions that create lasting change in their communities and beyond.

AYBC is more than a bootcamp—it’s a launchpad for Africa’s emerging green leaders. Over the course of six months, selected participants will undergo rigorous training, benefit from tailored mentorship, and build a strong support network of climate peers and sector experts. Whether you’re refining a concept or expanding an existing initiative, this program is designed to equip you with the knowledge, strategy, and partnerships needed to amplify your climate impact.

Participants will be working on climate-focused ideas that align with key global sustainability priorities. From advancing clean energy access for marginalized communities, to strengthening food systems that are both sustainable and resilient, and driving community-based solutions for climate adaptation—AYBC seeks innovative thinkers and doers across the continent. The program’s focus contributes directly to global targets such as clean energy (SDG 7), food security (SDG 2), and climate action (SDG 13), ensuring that every selected project is grounded in real-world needs and global relevance.

Through AYBC, participants will have direct access to experienced climate mentors, policy influencers, and technical experts, offering invaluable guidance to strengthen and refine their solutions. The program also fosters connections with like-minded innovators and potential partners who can help scale participants’ work and open doors to further opportunities. In addition, selected young leaders will be given the chance to take part in major climate-related events and decision-making forums, enhancing their visibility and influence at both national and international levels.

All components of the program are fully funded—including training resources, mentorship, and if selected for the in-person component, travel and accommodation are also covered. Beyond the structured program, participants become part of an ongoing pan-African community of climate leaders, with continued access to collaboration, mentorship, and long-term support.

AYBC is calling on passionate youth from across Africa, aged between 18 and 35, who are actively working on—or dreaming up—solutions to environmental problems affecting the continent. Whether you have a clearly defined idea, an early-stage startup, or an operational initiative with measurable results, this program is designed to meet you where you are and support your growth.

If you are based in Africa or working on a climate-focused initiative that directly benefits African communities, and you’re ready to commit to the full virtual and in-person experience, this is your chance to accelerate your journey. From clean energy access to sustainable agriculture and climate resilience, if your work fits one of these thematic areas, you are encouraged to apply and become part of a new wave of green leaders transforming Africa’s future.
