Applications are now open for the 2026 Nordic Africa Institute Scholarship Program, offering early-career researchers from Africa the chance to carry out their independent research in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. The scholarship grants access to the Institute's library and other resources, fostering a stimulating research environment.
The goal of the African Scholarship Program is to create opportunities for early-career researchers based in Africa to advance their research projects at the Nordic Africa Institute.
The program provides access to the Institute's extensive library, the chance to collaborate with Institute researchers, and various networking opportunities, all contributing to an enriching research experience.
The Nordic Africa Institute also aims to support the development of knowledge about Africa while fostering connections between African and Nordic research communities.
Program Duration
The program typically lasts around 90 days (3 months). Please note that many academic institutions in Nordic countries, including the Nordic Africa Institute, are either closed or operate at reduced capacity from June 15 to August 15 and December 15 to January 15. As a result, applicants cannot select these periods for their research visit.
