INTERNSHIPS: G20 Global Land Initiative is offering remote or in-person internships in Bonn, Germany
The Global Initiative, overseen by the UNCCD, is dedicated to advancing capacity building, fostering collaboration with the private sector and civil society, and spotlighting successful land restoration strategies. The Initiative Coordination Office (ICO), guided by the UNCCD’s Executive Secretary, is at the helm of these efforts.
As part of this initiative, the ICO is offering internship opportunities for motivated individuals eager to contribute to the mission. Interns will work remotely and play a vital role in implementing various program activities. From designing impactful visual content using Adobe tools to conducting in-depth research on national and regional restoration efforts, these roles promise dynamic and meaningful experiences. Interns will explore frameworks for environmental restoration, assess legal provisions for post-mining rehabilitation in G20 nations, and compile findings into comprehensive reports. They will also actively monitor social media for trending topics, contribute to awareness campaigns, and collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions.
The program seeks individuals with exceptional communication skills, a knack for teamwork, and a flair for creativity. Candidates must be either in the final year of their undergraduate studies or have graduated within the past year. Strong research abilities, proficiency in drafting professional content, and organizational capabilities are essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and graphic design software will be an asset. Interns are expected to have excellent written and spoken English, and while prior professional experience isn’t required, enthusiasm and commitment are a must.
The internship runs for a minimum of three months and up to six months, between February and June 2025. It is a full-time commitment, requiring five days of work each week. However, it’s important to note that the UNCCD internships are unpaid, and interns are responsible for covering their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
Applications for this exciting opportunity must be submitted by January 30, 2025.
For those passionate about tackling global environmental challenges and eager to make a difference, this internship offers an incredible platform to contribute, learn, and grow. The G20 Global Initiative is not just an opportunity to gain hands-on experience—it’s a chance to be part of a global movement committed to creating a more sustainable future.
