Position Overview
The Regional Director plays a strategic role in advancing the mission of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) and the Vulnerable Twenty Group (V20) within a specific geographic region.

This leadership position involves strengthening collaboration with member states and key partners, with a central focus on advancing Climate Prosperity Plans (CPPs), improving access to climate finance and vertical funds, and contributing to financial and trade reform efforts.

The role also provides oversight and support for a range of initiatives, including fellowships, advocacy efforts, parliamentary engagement, communications, and cultural programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead coordination efforts for CVF-V20 regional member countries and applicants, ensuring effective engagement and communication throughout the membership process.
• Represent and support CVF-V20 members in international forums related to climate finance, including but not limited to Leaders’ Summits, Ministerial Dialogues, UNFCCC events, IMO meetings, and regional consultations.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of regional meetings and consultations, including development of event materials, agendas, background notes, and post-event documentation.
• Manage regional program implementation and provide technical leadership across initiatives such as the Global Shield, carbon markets, debt resilience, and other relevant programs.
• Regularly update and distribute guidance documents and strategic briefs to support member country participation in CVF-V20 activities.
• Collaborate closely with the Communications and Membership teams to ensure timely media and outreach coverage of events and policy announcements.
• Promote membership expansion and deepen engagement by facilitating regional alliances and partnerships with academic, civil society, and government actors.
• Guide the rollout and localization of Climate Prosperity Plans, in coordination with the Managing Director’s office and the CPP implementation team.
• Draft policy documents, briefings, talking points, and technical submissions tailored for member states and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate regional initiatives through structured feedback tools and performance tracking aligned with pre-identified outcomes.
• Maintain open communication with project partners through scheduled alignment meetings and continuous engagement.
• Support additional duties including research, content development, event organization, and communications tasks as requested.
• Set the strategic vision for the regional office, ensuring it aligns with CVF-V20’s global mission and region-specific development priorities.
• Drive the development, funding, and management of regional project portfolios, including grant proposal development.
• Foster collaborative team culture within the regional office and externally with partners and members.
• Advise the leadership team on regional climate and development strategies and strengthen ties with host country governments.
• Expand partnerships with governments, donor agencies, and other stakeholders to elevate CVF-V20’s visibility and impact.
• Contribute to fundraising by identifying strategic funding opportunities and assisting in proposal writing and donor engagement.
• Lead regional-level communications and ensure widespread uptake of CVF-V20 initiatives and knowledge products.
• Uphold workplace safety and well-being through appropriate security and health protocols.
• Prepare quarterly performance reports detailing regional program achievements and team milestones.
• Actively pursue strategic alliances and coordinate regular updates with both existing and prospective partners.
• Execute additional responsibilities in support of CVF-V20 goals as delegated by the Managing Director or leadership team.
