The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with a full benefits package. The position is full-time and offered on a two-year fixed-term contract. The role provides the opportunity to conduct original, policy-relevant research; publish through IISS platforms; engage in regional events and conferences; contribute to advisory projects; and collaborate with leading experts in international security and Middle Eastern affairs.

Applicants should hold a postgraduate degree in Middle East studies, political science, international relations, or a closely related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate a strong research and analytical track record through academic, governmental, or policy-related work focused on Middle Eastern political, economic, or security dynamics.
Proficiency in English is essential, and the ability to conduct research in at least one Middle Eastern language is highly desirable. Experience living in or working on the region will be viewed favorably. Applicants must be eligible to work in Bahrain or have the capacity to obtain the necessary work authorization.
