The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking an Investor Engagement Analyst to join its Rome-based team, supporting global efforts in climate finance, clean energy, and youth-led climate action.

This role sits within UNDP’s Rome Centre, which works closely with the Government of Italy and international partners to mobilize investment for sustainable development, particularly across climate, energy, and environmental initiatives in developing economies.

The selected professional will play a central role in engaging investors, development finance institutions, philanthropies, and private-sector partners to help unlock capital for high-impact climate and energy projects.

Key Programmes You Will Support

The assignment contributes to three flagship initiatives led by the UNDP Rome Centre:

• Youth4Climate – empowering youth-led climate solutions worldwide

• PISTA (Platform for Investment Support and Technical Assistance) – strengthening the bankability of climate and energy projects

• Energy for Growth (E4G) – accelerating access to sustainable energy in developing countries, particularly in Africa

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Sustainable Finance and Investment Specialist, the Investor Engagement Analyst will:

Investor & Partner Engagement

• Maintain and update investor and partner databases

• Track meetings, calls, and engagements with financial institutions and donors

• Prepare meeting briefs, background notes, and follow-up summaries

• Support preparation of pitch decks, NDAs, LOIs, and partner materials

Events & Deal Room Coordination

• Support organization of investor roundtables, deal rooms, and high-level events

• Coordinate logistics for participation in global forums such as COP, Africa Energy Forum, and Financing for Development

• Prepare agendas, speaker briefs, attendance lists, and run-of-show documents

• Capture insights and follow-up actions after events

Research & Market Intelligence

• Conduct research on investors, DFIs, philanthropies, and financial instruments

• Identify financing and partnership opportunities aligned with UNDP project pipelines

• Prepare short market and partner intelligence briefs

Data & Tool Management

• Maintain internal databases covering project pipelines, investor profiles, and engagement history

• Ensure accurate documentation and secure information sharing

• Support preparation of pipeline updates, investor briefings, and partner communications

Monitoring, Reporting & Knowledge Sharing

• Track progress of financing engagements and partnerships

• Prepare monthly summaries and analytical reports

• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and webinars
