Join the Carbon Capture Startup Challenge

The CarbonCapture Startup Challenge is currently accepting applications. The competition aims to foster creative company concepts that support a circular carbon economy while competing with today's global issues.

Climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions represent some of the most pressing challenges today. At Bosch Business Innovations, they are convinced that achieving a sustainable future depends on leveraging advanced technology and innovative thinking.

Key Focus Areas

They are seeking groundbreaking ideas and solutions in the following areas:

  • Direct Air Capture (DAC)
DAC technologies capture CO2 directly from the atmosphere, unlike carbon capture methods which are typically implemented at the emission source, such as a factory. The captured CO2 can be either stored permanently in geological formations or used in various applications.
  • Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS)
CCUS involves capturing CO2 from significant emission sources, like power plants or industrial operations using fossil fuels or biomass. If the CO2 isn't used onsite, it's compressed and transported via pipeline, ship, rail, or truck to be applied in various industries or injected into deep geological formations like depleted oil reservoirs or saline aquifers.
  • Downstream Solutions Across the Carbon Dioxide Value Chain
The carbon dioxide value chain includes solutions such as carbon accounting to track emissions, carbon trading systems for buying and selling emission rights, and the management of emission certificates to ensure compliance with regulations and support carbon reduction goals.

Interested individuals should apply by the deadline of 28 February 2025.
