Join the Education for Climate Local Facilitators 2026
Applications are now open for the Education for Climate Local Facilitators 2026 initiative, offering climate education advocates an opportunity to support local communities while contributing to the broader goals of the Education for Climate Coalition.
The program is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about climate education, community engagement, and collaborative learning. Selected facilitators will help strengthen local climate education networks by connecting community members, encouraging participation, and promoting knowledge exchange.
About the Program
Local Facilitators serve as volunteer leaders within the Education for Climate community. They act as ambassadors and focal points for local community spaces, helping create inclusive environments where educators, students, researchers, policymakers, and climate advocates can collaborate and share ideas.
The initiative aims to strengthen climate education across participating countries by fostering dialogue, supporting peer learning, and encouraging greater community participation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Selected facilitators will be expected to:
- Welcome and support new community members.
- Encourage participation in local and international discussions.
- Share important updates, events, activities, and engagement opportunities.
- Support knowledge exchange in English or another official European Union language.
- Promote constructive discussions and community collaboration.
- Participate in community events, leadership meetings, and thematic discussions whenever possible.
- Help strengthen local climate education ecosystems.
Main Facilitator Responsibilities
Each local team will appoint one individual to serve as the Main Facilitator.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Coordinating activities among local facilitators.
- Serving as the primary point of contact between facilitators and community managers.
- Encouraging participation in community cafés, leadership meetings, and Education for Climate events.
- Supporting the organization of local activities and engagement initiatives.
