Although returning grant applicants are permitted to request more than $50,000 USD, the maximum amount is $50,000 USD.

Following that, the Motorola Solutions Foundation team will choose the organisations that best fit the emphasis on technology/engineering education and first responder programs.
An organisation may apply more than once. But each organisation will probably only receive funding for one program from the Foundation.
Initiatives that directly involve people in planned, continuous programming across several touchpoints are given priority by the Foundation over one-time events. Event sponsorships are not supported by the Foundation's yearly grants program.

Applications for multi-year awards are not accepted. Nonetheless, organisations are able to submit funding applications year after year.

Motorola Solutions, with global employees, aims to benefit local communities through its Foundation, which also supports programs in these communities and provides support to universities where Motorola Solutions recruits.
