Applications are now open for the WHO AFRO Youth Forum 2026, a virtual gathering that will bring together young people from across the African continent to discuss pressing health issues and contribute to the future of regional health governance.

The forum will take place on 22 August 2026 alongside the 76th Session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Africa (RC76). The event will provide a platform for young people to share perspectives, engage with regional health priorities, and participate in discussions that could influence the future direction of youth engagement within the WHO African Region.

One of the key objectives of the forum is to gather input on the proposed WHO AFR Youth Council, which aims to strengthen youth participation in decision-making processes related to public health across Africa. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute ideas on the council's priorities, governance structure, and approaches for ensuring meaningful youth representation.
