New York University (NYU) has opened applications for the Global Energy, Climate Justice, and Sustainability Fellows Program 2026, a competitive summer fellowship designed to equip graduate students with hands-on experience in climate action, sustainability, and energy-related projects.
This program brings together emerging leaders in sustainability and connects them with experts from academia, government, private sector organizations, multilateral institutions, and environmental non-profits. Selected fellows will gain practical experience, leadership training, and professional exposure while contributing to real-world climate and sustainability initiatives.

Program Highlights
Participants will engage in experiential learning activities, research projects, or internships focused on energy, climate justice, sustainability, and community resilience. Fellows will receive orientation training, participate in skill-building modules, and collaborate with leading professionals in the field.
At the end of the program, fellows will prepare a written report and deliver two presentations—one to their host organization and another at an NYU public event to share insights and outcomes from their projects.

Additional Information
- Stipend: USD 8,000
- Are enrolled in a master’s program and in good academic standing
- Have completed at least one semester by Spring 2026
- Are eligible for summer engagement and possess an SSN or ITIN
- International students on F-1 or J-1 visas may apply if they meet all stipend and immigration requirements
Finalists will be invited for virtual interviews in March 2026, and selected fellows will be notified by the end of the month.
