The Pulitzer Center is inviting applications for the third cohort of the Ocean Reporting Network (ORN) Fellowships, a global initiative that supports professional journalists in producing in-depth, investigative stories about the threats facing the world’s oceans.

About the Fellowship
The ORN creates a collaborative ecosystem of journalists worldwide, investigating harmful and illegal practices in the fishing and extractive industries, threats to marine biodiversity and coastal communities, and the supply chains driving ocean resource depletion. Fellows spend up to one year working on a deeply reported ocean-related investigation, with full editorial independence guaranteed.

Focus Areas Include:

• Climate change impacts on oceans

• Overfishing and illegal fishing

• Marine biodiversity loss and pollution

• Deep-sea mining

• Blue finance and carbon crediting

• Marine energy generation and geoengineering

• Aquaculture and fishmeal production

• Marine protected areas

• Transparency and governance issues (e.g., subsidies, tax loopholes, seafood supply chains)

• Cross-border investigative collaborations
