Are you a recent graduate with a keen interest in international affairs? Do you want to gain insight into the operations of a diplomatic mission and how the European Union represents its values and interests in Namibia?
This opportunity involves assisting with the preparation and coordination of EU meetings, including drafting agendas, annotated agendas, and meeting summaries across various areas such as politics, culture, and consular affairs. It also includes contributing to political reports, preparing speeches, briefing notes, and key talking points. Additionally, trainees will conduct research on relevant political and economic developments in Namibia, support the planning of public diplomacy and media engagements, and assist in managing the delegation’s communications strategy.
Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Political Science, African Studies, Communication, Journalism, or a related field. Strong analytical and writing abilities, proficiency in digital communication and social media, and the ability to collaborate within a team are essential. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
This traineeship, lasting six months, will take place within the Political, Press, and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Namibia, commencing in May 2025. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend to support their living costs. However, expenses related to travel, visas, insurance, and accommodation will be the responsibility of the trainee.
