This is a paid part-time position offering the flexibility to work remotely anywhere in the U.S. or on a hybrid schedule from one of our offices. As an intern with the LAP team, you will support initiatives that strengthen Earthjustice’s relationships with community-based organizations and other partners. You will have the chance to work closely with legal and policy staff, assist in coordinating engagement activities, contribute to planning national and local events, and support the development of materials and trainings that enhance staff knowledge in environmental justice, community lawyering, and effective collaboration strategies. You will also help maintain the Earthjustice Partnership Toolkit, contribute to our Quarterly Partnership Speaker Series, and assist in research and content development to support the team’s projects. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of law, advocacy, and community engagement.

We are looking for interns who are currently enrolled in a graduate program or law school and can commit 15-20 hours per week. Ideal candidates are strong communicators, organized, creative thinkers, and have a genuine interest in public interest law, social justice, and strengthening partnerships with environmental justice communities. A background in environmental policy or studies, civil rights, sociology, social work, or community organizing is highly valued. Proficiency in MS Office programs and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are required.

This position offers competitive pay, with graduate students earning $27.39 per hour and law students $35.20 per hour for Spring 2026.
