UPTO 10,000 CAD FUNDING: Apply for the Eureka Fellowship 2025/26 for Canadian young changemakers
AstraZeneca Canada, in collaboration with Plan International Canada, is now inviting applications for the second round of the Eureka Fellowship, an empowering initiative aimed at nurturing young leaders who are committed to advancing health equity, environmental sustainability, and climate justice both within Canada and globally. This unique program acknowledges and bolsters the efforts of emerging changemakers who are making significant contributions toward improving the well-being of people, communities, and ecosystems.
Applications are currently open for the 2025–2026 intake, with the Fellowship spanning an 18-month period. This comprehensive initiative provides not only financial backing but also leadership training, public recognition, and a platform for youth-led projects to flourish.
Successful applicants will receive substantial backing across various dimensions. Each participant’s registered charity or community-driven project will be granted $10,000 CAD to strengthen and expand its goals. Over the course of the Fellowship, participants will engage in virtual training designed to hone leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and capacity for impactful change. Fellows will also gain exposure through public campaigns showcasing their sustainability initiatives, culminating in a face-to-face summit where they will interact with other trailblazing youth, industry professionals, and advocates from health, environmental, and nonprofit sectors. Once the program concludes, participants will join a growing network of alumni, where they can continue to exchange insights, collaborate, and drive collective progress.
The Fellowship seeks applicants who are between 18 and 30 years old by December 2025, fluent in either English or French, living in Canada, and able to commit fully to the program’s timeline from July 2025 to December 2026. Participants must have reliable internet and appropriate technology for online engagement, as these will not be provided. The opportunity is intended for founders or leaders of community initiatives or registered non-profit organizations who can present supporting documentation for governance and finances. Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate that their projects are primed for funding and possess clear metrics of success.
Eligible initiatives must actively contribute to advancing health equity, biodiversity preservation, climate action, or healthcare accessibility. Projects should be designed to include marginalized or underrepresented communities and must aim for systemic or community-wide transformation, driven by advocacy, policy, or engagement efforts. Initiatives must demonstrate tangible progress by December 2025 and final outcomes by December 2026, with implementation beginning between July 2025 and January 2026.
Proposals that promote discriminatory practices, religious or political agendas, or serve commercial interests of AstraZeneca will not be considered. Likewise, projects that focus on scholarships, medical treatment, or advice, are already concluded, fail to offer measurable outcomes within the Fellowship’s duration, or are predominantly funded from another source will be ineligible for support.
