VOLUNTEER AND PAID ROLES; Apply for the Major Group for Children and Youth Admin Support Team Open Call 2026

Applications are now open for young people interested in joining the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) Admin Team and supporting its work across financial management, communications, digital platforms, programme coordination and administration.

MGCY is the official, self-organised and youth-led space through which children and young people engage with United Nations policy processes. The platform connects more than 10,000 member entities across over 170 countries and territories, providing a bridge between young people and the UN system and supporting meaningful youth participation in global policymaking. Its Secretariat facilitates the overall work of MGCY and supports its working groups, constituencies and engagement with the United Nations.

The current call is seeking applicants for several functions within the MGCY Admin Team. Available opportunities include bookkeeping, where selected individuals will support the recording of financial transactions, payment and transfer requests, and internal audit processes where required. Applicants with communications and creative skills can support social media management and content development by coordinating posting schedules across platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, while also creating digital materials including graphics, videos and reels.

There are also opportunities for applicants with digital administration experience to support the management and updating of MGCY’s website and other online pages. Experience with Squarespace is required for this function, alongside the ability to organise and maintain documents, reports and other files within Google Drive. Programme Support Officers will assist with project coordination and provide operational support to specific constituencies, working groups and central MGCY projects based on organisational needs.

The positions may be offered on a voluntary or paid basis, depending on the role, location and number of hours required. Successful applicants are expected to commit between 5 and 20 hours per week for a period of six months or one year, depending on the position. Candidates should be self-motivated, responsive, adaptable, willing to learn and able to work with professionalism and strong attention to detail.

Young people under the age of 30 are eligible to apply. Individuals who join the MGCY Admin Team will not be permitted to hold another mandate within MGCY during their term. Applicants who require financial support or a stipend may indicate their request in the relevant section of the application form, where applicable.
