Are you between 18 and 35 years old and actively working to safeguard endangered species and protect our natural world? If your dedication to conservation is creating tangible change, now is your chance to be recognized — the 2026 Future For Nature Awards are officially accepting applications.
About the Application:
Submissions must highlight the candidate’s active conservation efforts—this is not a call for project proposals. Future For Nature (FFN) recognizes individual achievements in wildlife conservation and does not function as a project funding body. As such, proposed plans for future work are not evaluated.
Applications must be personally written by the applicant and should clearly express their own conservation philosophy and accomplishments. While AI tools can be used for support, applications that appear to rely heavily on copied AI-generated text may be disqualified from the selection process.
Use of the Award:
The financial support granted through the FFN Award is intended to be used directly by the recipient for a conservation activity of their choice.
- The initiative must center on the protection of wild species, although scientific research can be a component, it must not overshadow the conservation goals.
- Applicants must clearly demonstrate how the activities will contribute practically and significantly to species conservation.
Additional Information:
Award recipients will be invited to present their work during the FFN Awards Ceremony at Royal Burgers’ Zoo in Arnhem, the Netherlands, scheduled for May 2026. All travel and lodging expenses will be arranged and covered by the FFN Foundation.
No administrative or overhead fees will be permitted to be taken by host institutions or partner organizations.
From the pool of applicants, 6 to 12 individuals will be shortlisted. Those selected will be asked to provide more detailed information, including visual materials (photos or videos), which will assist in the final selection of the three award winners.

Candidates must have been born between August 31, 2007, and May 31, 1991. This ensures applicants are between 18 and 35 years old at the time of the 2026 FFN Awards ceremony.
The individual should have made a significant, lasting contribution to the conservation of at least one wild species.
Must display a high level of dedication, persistence, and enthusiasm toward conservation efforts.
Should have shown strong leadership, a proactive mindset, and a clear strategic approach to conservation.
Creativity and original thinking in addressing conservation challenges are essential.
The candidate must have a reputation for integrity in the conservation community.
Applicants should be committed to continuing their conservation journey, as the award is intended to support and amplify ongoing efforts—not to recognize the conclusion of one’s career.
Fluent communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are required to effectively convey their work.
