With a $5,000 stipend : Join the 2027 Young Climate Leaders of Color (YCLC) Program
Applications are open for the 2027 Young Climate Leaders of Color (YCLC) Program, an initiative led by the People’s Climate Innovation Center to support emerging leaders advancing community-driven climate solutions across the United States and its territories.
The year-long program is designed to strengthen the leadership, skills, and impact of young people of color who are working to address climate justice through community organizing, cultural strategy, advocacy, storytelling, environmental education, policy, arts, and other innovative approaches to social and environmental change.
Up to 20 participants will be selected to join the 2027 cohort. Each participant will receive a $5,000 stipend to support their time in the program and help implement a community-based climate project. Funding may also be used for training, certifications, workshops, educational expenses, tools, equipment, or other resources that strengthen project delivery.
Throughout the program, fellows will participate in monthly virtual learning sessions, receive mentorship and project guidance, collaborate with a national network of climate leaders, and explore topics such as climate justice, community organizing, leadership development, ecological principles, cultural strategy, direct action, healing-centered approaches, and story-based advocacy.
Participants will also attend a virtual orientation in January 2027 and a fully funded 3–4 day in-person gathering scheduled for February 2027, where travel, accommodation, and most meals will be covered by the organizers.
