The World Trade Organisation is accepting applications for its Young Trade Leaders Program, an effort to build a global network of Young Trade Leaders and improve youth awareness of the WTO's operations and global commerce.
Candidates chosen to serve in the WTO Young Trade Leaders will be outstanding young individuals who appreciate the positive effects of trade on both people and the environment.
In addition to having the chance to learn about the organization's activities and further its goals, they will provide new viewpoints and thoughts regarding the function of trade and the WTO.

Participants will:
- Deepen their knowledge of the WTO and the global trade system
- Create and share content such as articles, blogs, podcasts, and social media posts on trade-related themes
- Take part in a one-day, in-person training session at the WTO headquarters in Geneva
- Help organize or lead a session during the Public Forum 2025
- Access various WTO training opportunities
- Receive guidance and mentorship from WTO Secretariat staff
- Be supported in hosting WTO-themed initiatives or events in their own countries

Eligibility Criteria
- Be between 18 and 28 years old by the application deadline, with a keen interest in international trade.
- Hold citizenship from a WTO member country.
- Not be currently employed by the WTO or have any immediate family members affiliated with the organization.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in a second WTO official language (French or Spanish) is considered an advantage.
- Demonstrate diplomatic awareness, openness to different viewpoints, and a commitment to encouraging dialogue and understanding around trade-related matters.
- Hold citizenship from a WTO member country.
- Not be currently employed by the WTO or have any immediate family members affiliated with the organization.
