Youth Volunteer Opportunity: Nuclear for Climate Initiative at COP31 (2026) – Apply now

Applications are now open for youth volunteers to join the Nuclear for Climate (N4C) Initiative Delivery Team in preparation for COP31, taking place from 9–20 November 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye.

This global volunteer opportunity is open to young professionals and students under the age of 40 from all regions of the world who are interested in climate action, clean energy, and international policy engagement. Selected volunteers will support the coordination and delivery of Nuclear for Climate’s 2026 campaign, which culminates during the two weeks of the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties, alongside other climate-related activities throughout the year.

Nuclear for Climate is a well-established international initiative bringing together nuclear professionals and scientists from more than 150 societies and associations worldwide. The initiative works to promote informed dialogue with policymakers and the public on the role of nuclear energy as a carbon-free solution in addressing climate change. Its activities are supported by accredited observer organizations within the UNFCCC process.

Volunteers selected for the Delivery Team may have the opportunity to engage directly in international climate and energy discussions, expand their professional networks, and strengthen their profile within the UNFCCC space. In some cases, participation may also include the possibility of COP31 badge access and accreditation as part of partner delegations, subject to organizational arrangements.

Volunteer Commitment

Delivery Team roles, including Team Lead and Team Member positions, run from April 2026 to January 2027. Each role has a defined scope of responsibilities and time commitments, which are outlined in the official role descriptions.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 15 February 2026.

Applicants who are not selected for this round may still be considered for other related opportunities within the initiative during the year.

This opportunity is particularly relevant for individuals seeking hands-on experience in global climate advocacy, energy policy discussions, and UN-level processes.
