SINGA is an esteemed award offered to international students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance in their undergraduate and/or master’s studies and show a strong interest in pursuing research leading to a PhD in Science and Engineering at a Singaporean university.

Students have the opportunity to conduct their research primarily at prestigious institutions such as the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), or the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

The fields of study covered by SINGA include PhD programs in Biomedical Sciences, as well as Physical Sciences and Engineering. Approximately 240 awards are granted each year, aimed at international students.

The scholarship offers comprehensive financial support for up to four years of PhD studies. This includes coverage of full tuition fees, a monthly stipend ranging from S$2,700 to S$3,200, a settlement allowance of S$1,000, and an airfare grant of up to S$1,500.
