The Government of Mauritius is now accepting applications for the 2025 Mauritius Africa Scholarships Scheme. This scholarship opportunity is available for qualified students who are citizens and residents of African Union or African Commonwealth member states. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1.Undergraduate Applicants: Candidates applying for undergraduate programs must be at least 18 years old but not older than 25 years by January 1, 2026.

2.Postgraduate Applicants: Those applying for MPhil, MPhil/PhD, or PhD programs should not have reached the age of 40 by January 1, 2026.

3.Admission Requirement: Applicants must have already secured a place in a full-time, on-campus program (Diploma, Degree, MPhil, or PhD) at a recognized public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius (as outlined in Section 8 of the Guidelines for Applicants) for the academic year starting in 2024.

The scholarship covers the duration of the program up to a maximum period, as specified, or the program’s minimum required duration—whichever is shorter.

To apply, candidates should fill out the official application form electronically before printing. Applications can only be submitted through the designated nominating agency in each applicant’s home country, often part of the Ministry of Education. This agency will endorse and shortlist up to 15 eligible candidates per country, who will be selected based on the distribution of undergraduate and postgraduate nominees. The nominating agency will then submit completed application forms to the Government of Mauritius according to the following deadlines:

•Intake Period: July to September 2025

•Deadline for Electronic Submission: April 23, 2025

•Deadline for Hard Copy Submission: April 30, 2025
