The selection process for this scholarship is highly competitive, seeking individuals who exhibit both academic excellence and strong personal character. Applicants should have consistently high academic performance, with grades averaging at least 70% or an upper second-class standing. Beyond academics, candidates must demonstrate leadership abilities, whether through campus involvement or community initiatives. Eligibility is open to those between the ages of 19 and 29 at the time of application, provided they are under 30 when beginning their scholarship. The program is accessible to citizens of any African country, regardless of their current place of residence or study.

This opportunity supports postgraduate studies at the Honours or Master’s level in a variety of disciplines, with the exception of MBA programs, which are not covered. Scholars benefit from full funding, which includes tuition and registration costs as determined by their respective institutions. Additional support is provided through allowances for study materials, accommodation, meals, medical aid, and personal expenses. Funding is also available for research and conference participation upon request. International recipients are granted economy-class flights from their home countries to their universities at both the start and completion of their studies.
