Applications are now open for the Blue Carbon Science & Policy Summer Programme, hosted by the University of St Andrews in Scotland. The programme will take place from 6–20 June 2026 and offers a unique opportunity for students and early career professionals interested in ocean science, climate change, and nature-based solutions.

This intensive two-week programme combines classroom learning, hands-on fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and policy-focused discussions to explore how coastal ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrasses, and saltmarshes store carbon and contribute to climate mitigation and biodiversity conservation.

Participants will learn from leading global experts in blue carbon science and policy, take part in field excursions across Scotland’s coastal environments, and work in advanced research laboratories to analyse real environmental data.
