FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the Rotary Scholarships for Water and Sanitation Professionals 2026–2027 

The Rotary Foundation, in partnership with IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, is offering Rotary Scholarships for Water and Sanitation Professionals for the 2026–2027 academic year.

This scholarship initiative seeks to strengthen global expertise in addressing water and sanitation challenges by supporting graduate students from developing and emerging economies who are committed to improving water management in their home countries.

Through this collaboration, selected candidates will pursue a Master of Science in Water and Sustainable Development at the IHE Delft campus in the Netherlands while gaining support from Rotary’s global network of professionals and community leaders.

Since the partnership began in 2012, nearly 200 scholarships have been awarded to students working to advance sustainable water solutions worldwide.

About the Scholarship

The Rotary–IHE Delft scholarship is designed to prepare professionals who can develop and implement solutions for water, sanitation, and environmental challenges.

Successful applicants will enrol in the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development, choosing one of the programme’s specialized thematic tracks.

Available Study Tracks

Participants may focus on one of the following areas:

  • Water and Health

  • Water, Food and Energy

  • Water Resources and Ecosystem Health

  • Water Hazards, Risks and Climate

These tracks aim to equip students with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to tackle global water-related issues.

Important Dates

  • Deadline to apply for admission to IHE Delft: 1 April 2026

  • Scholarship application deadline: 15 April 2026

  • Notification of results: Before 15 May 2026

  • Final approval by The Rotary Foundation: 1 July 2026

Program Benefits
Students selected for the Rotary scholarship benefit from both academic and professional support, including:

- Funding through Rotary’s Global Grant system

- Study opportunity in the Netherlands at a leading water education institute

- Mentorship and networking opportunities with Rotarians in their home countries and in the Netherlands

- Access to Rotary’s global alumni network of scholars and professionals

Scholars are also encouraged to engage with Rotary Clubs during and after their studies, helping strengthen long-term collaboration between local communities and water professionals.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:

- Secure academic admission to the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft.

- Be nominated by a local Rotary Club in their home country.

- Demonstrate a commitment to addressing water and sanitation challenges in developing or emerging countries.

- Submit a completed scholarship application supported by a sponsoring Rotary Club.

Only applications endorsed and submitted by a Rotary Club will be reviewed by the Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee.
