FULLY FUNDED: Apply for this United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa) Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2024 for Young Africans

United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa) has formed a partnership with the Mastercard Foundation for its global Scholars Program. This collaborative initiative aims to provide academically talented young individuals from Africa who face financial, gender, displacement, or disability challenges with an opportunity to access high-quality university education.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at USIU-Africa will offer full-cost scholarships to young Africans who are seeking their first undergraduate degree. Upon completing their studies, these scholars will be expected to lead positive changes in their communities and contribute to meaningful transformation across the continent, armed with internationally recognized and locally applicable qualifications.

The scholarship program is specifically designed for African youth, including young women, refugees/displaced youth, persons with disabilities, and young men, who possess the following qualities:

- Academic talent.
- Commitment to giving back to their communities.
- Leadership potential.

Eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be 29 years old or younger at the time of application.
- They should meet the minimum university entry grade of C+ or higher, or its equivalent as determined by the Kenya Commission for University Education.

For applicants interested in courses in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, a mean grade of B- or its equivalent and at least a C+ or B- in the cluster subjects of English, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry is required. International applicants must meet equivalent standards.

Applicants must also express interest in one of the approved 13 undergraduate degree programs for the Scholars Program at USIU-Africa, including various fields in Science and Technology, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Communication, Cinematic and Creative Arts, Business, and Humanities and Social Sciences.

Additionally, applicants should have a demonstrated record of leadership involvement and community engagement while also facing socio-economic disadvantages.

- Provision of laptops, books, and other learning materials.
