Applications are open for the Disaster & Climate Risk Data Fellows program, a six-month fellowship hosted by the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR). This fellowship is specifically designed for early-career professionals who are passionate about data science, geospatial analysis, and disaster risk management. Selected fellows will serve as World Bank Short-Term Consultants, gaining invaluable practical experience on projects that address global challenges in climate and disaster risk. Eligibility Criteria
The fellowship targets professionals from Fragile and Conflict-Affected (FCV) countries across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Eligible countries include Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Zimbabwe. Applicants are expected to have relevant experience in data science, geospatial mapping, disaster risk management, or related fields. The program welcomes motivated candidates who are eager to apply their technical expertise to real-world projects that support climate resilience and disaster risk reduction in vulnerable regions.
