Selected fellows will serve as World Bank Short-Term Consultants, gaining invaluable practical experience on projects that address global challenges in climate and disaster risk. Fellows will receive mentorship from experienced World Bank staff, access to cutting-edge methodologies and tools in disaster risk analysis, and exposure to collaborative international projects. Beyond technical skills, this fellowship strengthens professional development, networking opportunities, and career growth in international development, climate resilience, and data-driven disaster management.

The fellowship targets professionals from Fragile and Conflict-Affected (FCV) countries across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Eligible countries include Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Zimbabwe. Applicants are expected to have relevant experience in data science, geospatial mapping, disaster risk management, or related fields. The program welcomes motivated candidates who are eager to apply their technical expertise to real-world projects that support climate resilience and disaster risk reduction in vulnerable regions.
