Applications are open for the DOT Kenya Climate Champions Program 2026. The program is organized by Digital Opportunity Trust Kenya with support from the Cisco Foundation. This opportunity is designed to empower young leaders in Kenya to drive climate action, environmental awareness, and community-led sustainability initiatives. Selected Climate Champions will receive training in climate leadership, digital advocacy, participatory action research, and community mobilization while implementing local climate solutions in Nairobi and surrounding areas.

Program Benefits

Selected Climate Champions will receive monthly stipends, specialized climate leadership training, mentorship, and opportunities to participate in a global climate network. Participants will gain hands-on experience in community mobilization, participatory action research, digital advocacy, and environmental sustainability. The program also offers certificates upon completion, visibility at regional and national climate events, and access to the DOT Alumni Network for continued networking and career growth.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be young people based in Kenya, particularly in Nairobi and surrounding regions, with strong interest in climate action, sustainability, environmental education, leadership, and community engagement. The program is prioritizing youth who have not previously participated in earlier DOT Kenya Cisco Climate Champions cohorts. Applicants should be available for both virtual and in-person training sessions and willing to actively engage in community climate projects during the three-month program period. Experience with digital tools, facilitation, or community work is an added advantage.
