Selected participants will receive full access to the Climate Investigations Course, a professional training programme valued at up to £2,638, at no cost. The course includes approximately 24.5 hours of in-depth online training delivered by experienced investigative journalists and experts. Participants will gain practical skills in climate investigation fundamentals, investigating climate finance, data-driven climate reporting, and environmental open-source intelligence (ECOSINT). Beyond technical skills, the programme offers opportunities to network with fellow journalists from different regions, collaborate on investigative ideas, and strengthen the quality and impact of climate reporting in their home countries.
Eligibility Criteria
This opportunity is open to early to mid-career journalists who are currently living and working in Africa, Latin America (including South and Central America and the Caribbean), West Asia, or South Asia. Applicants should have a background in journalism and some experience or demonstrated interest in investigative reporting, particularly on climate, environmental, social, or accountability-related issues. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English, as all training sessions, materials, and discussions are conducted in English. Applicants are also expected to commit to attending all scheduled online sessions and actively participate throughout the full duration of the course.
