Empowering Young Climate Leaders: Join the 2026 ACE Hub Youth Event in Bonn, Germany

Young changemakers across the globe are being invited to take their climate leadership to the next level at the upcoming ACE Hub Youth Event, set to take place from 4 to 6 June 2026 in Bonn, Germany. This dynamic in-person gathering, organized in partnership with the UN Climate Change secretariat and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), is a key initiative to empower the next generation of climate advocates under the Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) framework.

Rooted in Article 12 of the Paris Agreement, the ACE initiative emphasizes the importance of climate education, awareness, training, public engagement, and access to information. This upcoming youth event is an extension of that mission—aiming to equip young people with the tools, skills, and networks they need to lead equitable and inclusive climate action at all levels of society.

Young people aged 18 to 35 with a strong passion for climate education, grassroots advocacy, or environmental justice are encouraged to apply, especially those who are actively involved in climate work at the local or community level. Whether you’ve worked with cities, local councils, or led community climate projects, this is an opportunity to gain global visibility and contribute to shaping a more sustainable future.

Participants will engage in hands-on workshops and creative training sessions tailored to strengthen their skills in storytelling for climate justice, community-centered project design, and using culture as a force for climate transformation. Beyond the classroom, attendees will also embark on an interactive field trip to witness firsthand how local governments and communities in Germany are implementing climate solutions on the ground.

What sets this event apart is its deep commitment to global youth collaboration. The program creates space for international and regional participants to build meaningful partnerships, co-create solutions, and explore innovative ideas for advancing climate action. Importantly, youth will also attend a high-level joint session of the UNFCCC Dialogue on Action for Climate Empowerment, where they will reflect on intergenerational learning, the role of Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and how youth can contribute to shaping international climate policy.

The ACE Hub Youth Event will cover the costs for two international participants and 15 youth currently residing in the NRW region. Additionally, motivated individuals who are able to secure their own funding are welcome to apply. All selected participants must be proficient in English and able to fully commit to the three-day event.

This is more than just a youth event—it’s a powerful platform for young leaders who want to sharpen their advocacy skills, collaborate with global peers, and take bold action in their communities. If you’re ready to make an impact and expand your influence in the climate space, don’t miss this chance. Applications are open now and close on April 10, 2026.

Now is the time for youth to lead the charge toward a climate-resilient future. Apply today and be part of a movement shaping the global climate agenda from the ground up.
