PAID FELLOWSHIP: Apply for the Eco Champions Programme for young changemakers based in Germany

Applications are now open for the Eco Champions Programme in Germany, an impactful international initiative by SOS Children’s Villages Worldwide designed to support young people aged 16 to 26 over an 18-month journey.

The programme empowers participants to develop and implement their own gender-responsive climate justice and environmental initiatives, or to actively engage in climate advocacy. With a strong focus on inclusion, anti-racism, and intersectionality, they create a safer and supportive space where participants can grow their ideas, voices, and influence in both project-based and political work.

They welcome applications from all young people living in Germany who are passionate about climate and environmental protection and are eager to contribute to social or political change. They are especially interested in supporting individuals from marginalized or structurally disadvantaged backgrounds who may have had limited access to funding opportunities. This includes young women, queer and gender-diverse individuals, people with migration backgrounds, and those from socio-economically disadvantaged communities.

Participants selected for the programme will receive comprehensive support, including training and workshops focused on project development, climate action, and advocacy, as well as individual mentoring tailored to their goals. They will also receive financial support of €300 per month to help bring their project ideas to life or strengthen their advocacy work. In addition, they gain access to a global network of young climate activists, opportunities to engage with national and international decision-makers, and the chance to participate in international summits, conferences, and potential collaborations with organizations and companies depending on their project ideas.

The application deadline is 20 May 2026, with a possible extension. An optional online information and application workshop will be held on 12 May 2026 for those interested in learning more or receiving guidance before applying.
