Join our team as an intern in the Climate Diplomacy Action Programme at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and contribute to shaping global climate policy. This full-time internship, based in Bonn or Berlin, offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international climate diplomacy from October 7, 2024, to April 6, 2025.
As a valued member of our team, you will support the Federal Foreign Office in advancing German climate foreign policy, working on pressing issues like climate partnerships, finance, security, adaptation, and justice. Your tasks will include:

Ideal Candidate Profile
We're seeking talented individuals who meet the following requirements:
*Academic Foundation*
- Hold a degree in social sciences, economics, politics, environmental or engineering sciences, or related fields, providing a solid understanding of climate change and international relations complexities.
*Climate Expertise*
- Possess knowledge in climate change, energy, resilience, and security, including scientific, economic, and political dimensions, enabling effective contributions to program objectives.
*Practical Experience*
- Have initial experience in international cooperation, event organization, or related fields through internships, volunteer work, or project involvement, demonstrating adaptability in diverse environments.
*Key Skills*
- Reliable, resilient, detail-oriented, and results-driven with excellent German and English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and capable of presenting complex information clearly.
- Knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French) is a plus.
