VOLUNTEERING : Join the LCOY 2026 Global Taskforce – Supporting Youth Climate Action
Applications are now open for the LCOY 2026 Taskforce, a global volunteer initiative seeking passionate young people to help strengthen the organization and impact of Local Conferences of Youth (LCOYs) worldwide. The taskforce will play a central role in supporting youth-led climate engagement throughout the 2026 LCOY cycle by providing guidance, resources, and coordination for organizers across different regions.
This opportunity is designed for individuals who want to contribute to international climate action, collaborate with youth leaders from around the world, and help ensure that local youth voices influence national, regional, and global climate discussions.
About the Opportunity
The LCOY 2026 Taskforce aims to build a stronger global support network for Local Conferences of Youth by improving collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity development. Members will work together to help organizers successfully plan and deliver LCOY events while strengthening connections with broader youth climate initiatives.
Taskforce members may contribute to a variety of activities, including:
- Supporting Local Conference of Youth organizers across different countries
- Organizing training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building activities
- Developing practical resources, templates, and guidance materials for organizers
- Strengthening National Youth Statement (NYS) processes
- Supporting fundraising efforts and partnership development
- Promoting LCOY stories through communications and digital campaigns
- Improving collaboration between LCOYs, RCOYs, COYs, and the wider YOUNGO network
- Documenting lessons learned to strengthen future LCOY cycles

Additional Information

- Previous experience with LCOYs, RCOYs, or COYs is welcomed but is not mandatory.
