Are there any female leaders in the food ecosystem that you know of? They would adore meeting them if that were the case. The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship, an ambitious initiative designed to elevate the voices and efforts of young African women who are making exceptional contributions and impact throughout the food ecosystem, is currently taking nominations from African Food Changemakers.

The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship (LAWFF) Program is an impactful initiative aimed at empowering and honoring women leaders within Africa's food and agriculture industries. Spanning six months, the program offers training, mentorship, and a collaborative community for exceptional female innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, chefs, influencers, and storytellers. Its holistic approach includes media exposure, international recognition, and continuous monitoring and evaluation to assess its success and impact.

LAWFF champions gender equality, aids in poverty alleviation, and promotes sustainable economic development, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Goals

Create a solid sisterhood of female leaders who will help one another in their individual and group endeavours to change the food ecosystem.
Make it easier for women changemakers to access vital resources and networks to further their creative work in the food ecosystem.Increase program fellows' visibility and media involvement to elevate the voices of female changemakers both domestically and globally.
Increase the rate of gender parity in the food and agricultural sectors.​

Eligibility Criteria
Only women
25–40 years old
Working in the agri-food industry for at least three years with measurable impact
A national of an African nation
They welcome nominations from anywhere around the African continent as long as the applicant is a resident of an African nation at the time of application. They want to celebrate the diversity of women in the culinary business and be inclusive.
