Apply for the Youth Accreditation for CSW70

Young feminists and youth advocates are invited to apply for registration support to attend the 70th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), which will take place at UN Headquarters in New York.

About CSW70

CSW70 will focus on strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, with particular attention to:

  • Inclusive and equitable legal systems

  • Eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices

  • Addressing structural barriers to gender equality

  • Women’s full and effective participation in public life and decision-making

  • Ending violence against women and girls

The session will bring together governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, and activists from around the world to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.

What This Opportunity Offers

UN Women, in collaboration with the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY), is coordinating a registration support process to help adolescents and young people gain official UN accreditation to attend CSW70 in person.

Through this process, selected applicants will be connected with ECOSOC-accredited NGOs that can support them in securing a UN badge for the session. Guidance will also be provided to complete the required registration through the UN INDICO system.

Important Notes on Funding

This opportunity does not include financial support for travel or accommodation. However:

  • Successful registrants will receive an official confirmation letter, which can be used for fundraising and visa applications

  • Applicants are encouraged to seek support from local or international partners working on gender equality initiatives

Visa Information

Participants are strongly advised to begin visa preparations early. Depending on individual circumstances, applicants may need:

  • A B-1/B-2 visitor visa, or

  • A C-2 diplomatic transit visa, which allows limited travel within the New York City area for UN-related purposes

Application and Registration Process

  • Submit the registration support request form before 15 January 2026

  • Accreditation is subject to badge availability and UN approval

  • Once accreditation is granted, applicants must complete final registration on the INDICO portal by 23 January 2026

  • Ongoing guidance will be provided by the MGCY team throughout the process
