Applications are now open for individuals interested in leading workshops at the 2026 edition of the Student Conference on Conservation Science in New York (SCCS-NY). Organized by the Center for Biodiversity and Conservation, this global conference brings together emerging conservationists, researchers, and professionals to exchange ideas and advance biodiversity conservation.

This call invites proposals from those eager to design and facilitate engaging sessions that inspire learning, collaboration, and innovation within the conservation community.

About the Opportunity

The SCCS-NY 2026 workshops are designed to provide participants with practical skills, fresh perspectives, and meaningful dialogue around pressing environmental challenges. Workshop leaders will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic program that values creativity, interdisciplinary thinking, and real-world impact.

Proposals are welcomed across a wide range of themes, including but not limited to:

• Tools and methods to enhance conservation research

• Career development and professional growth

• Innovative approaches to environmental management and policy

• Interdisciplinary collaboration across sectors

• Discussion-based or interactive sessions

• Creative intersections between science and art

Submissions will be assessed based on their relevance to biodiversity conservation and the level of participant engagement they offer.
